About Me

I believe every individual is unique and possesses the strength and wisdom to overcome challenges or heal from difficult situations. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, compassionate and non-judgmental place in which to collaboratively explore obstacles and identify solutions that will help you start the healing process and bring about a sense of peace.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and work primarily with adults, couples, families and groups. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to determine if I may have the privilege of walking alongside you on your journey towards well-being. I received my M.S. in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. My experiences in outpatient clinics, residential substance abuse facilities, and providing pro bono services in the community (hospice, churches) have given me diverse experiences in addressing a wide variety of life transitions, relationship issues, mental health concerns and addiction issues.

My specialties include anxiety, depression, addiction, grief/loss, life transitions, relationship issues, spirituality and stress management. I understand the disease of addiction and how it can impact the individual, family and friends. About Me

My approach to counseling is to be fully present, attune, and resonate with my clients by co-regulating their nervous systems in a therapeutic setting.

I am trained to identify and treat the root causes of emotional triggers and associated thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. I believe mental wellness is characterized by calmness, clarity, curiosity, creativity, confidence, courage, compassion, and connectedness. Intuitive and compassionate, I find peace not by knowing things but in my journey to be known.

After a diverse career in finance, consulting, and entrepreneurship, I find my calling is to help others gain relational insights and embrace a courageous journey to relate well. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, an Executive MBA degree from New York University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland.

I am trained in the latest empirical treatment approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).

    About Me

Welcome! I look forward to meeting with you! I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens and adults, helping them navigate issues related to anxiety, OCD, depression, relationships, self-esteem, stress, life changes and grief/loss.

At the core of my counseling style I use a person centered approach focused on genuineness, congruence, empathy and unconditional positive regard. With that as my foundation, I will then tailor my approach to your needs, using approaches such as ACT, CBT, ERP and iCBT.

I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort so we will work together to achieve growth in areas where you desire change. Ultimately utilizing the therapy space for exploration of symptoms, insight building and goal setting.

            A Sense of Mattering

Mattering is the profound recognition that our lives are intertwined with each other and more connected than we think. To matter signifies that our thoughts, actions, feelings and choices have a lasting impact, leaving a trace and/or legacy behind us, in the next generation passed down through our children.

            The Strength of Spirituality

Although religion and spirituality have been synonymous throughout history, in the last couple of decades spirituality has detached itself as a separate entity and therefore can sometimes be overlooked. As this distinction has become more apparent, research has grown to show the benefits of spirituality in an individual’s health.

            Letting Go

What does it mean to let go? How do we do it? What are the benefits of letting go? I hope that these questions will spark a curiosity in us to search for these answers because letting go can be a tremendous life skill in our growth, in our lives, and our relationships. Similar to spring cleaning, if there are emotional and mental loads that no longer serve us well, we can begin to let go.
