About Jennifer

Jennifer Oh is senior psychologist at Orchard Mental Health. Most recently, Jennifer completed her doctoral internship at Johns Hopkins University Counseling Center where she specialized in working with and treating a diverse population of students.

Jennifer is expected to receive her doctoral degree in counseling psychology from Radford University in Virginia in August 2022.

Jennifer completed her MSW at the University of Georgia where she cultivated a passion for addressing mental health disparities and stigma in immigrant and other traditionally underserved communities. Her contextual lens is as much informed by her clinical training experiences at the V.A. Medical Center and community health clinic as it is enriched by her decade-long role as a NYC public school educator. Jennifer earned her M.A. in Education at Brooklyn College and her B.A. at the University of Michigan.

Jennifer integrates evidence-based treatments using emotion-focused, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques. A relational-cultural, intersectional framework is the cornerstone of Jennifer’s work both inside and outside of the therapeutic space. Clinically, Jennifer aims to help individuals heal and grow while cultivating a greater sense of agency and autonomy over all aspects of their lives.

About Me (he, him, his)

My name is Jake, and I am a postdoctoral fellow and licensed psychology associate at Orchard Mental Health. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany (SUNY), and recently completed my doctoral internship at Towson University where I worked with a diverse population of college students.

My clinical interests focus on helping folks overcome Trauma, Anxiety, OCD, and Depression. However, I like to consider myself a “generalist,” and work with a variety of presenting concerns. I also work with folks across the lifespan. Basically, I do my best to put your values above all else, while emphasizing your unique identities and experiences!

I integrate ACT, IFS, EFT, CBT, and interpersonal process in my therapeutic work, with an emphasis on cultural relational theory. I also love to lead therapy groups, and work with couples and families!

    Men and Masculinity

There is often a precariousness associated with masculinity here in the United States, right? You know what I mean.  Man card. Guy code. Dude law. That sort of thing? The kind of thing where, if you violate it, you lose that respect your friends or family have for you?
