About Joy

Joy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland who enjoys working with children, teens, and adults from diverse backgrounds and diagnosis. She received her masters degree in social work from SUNY-Buffalo in 2005, with a specialization in children and families. Joy specializes in working with neurodivergent clients, including those on the Autism spectrum and those diagnosed with ADHD. Joy is also a board approved social work supervisor.

Joy has gained clinical experience working in telehealth settings, outpatient settings, day treatment program, group home, residential facility, and school settings. She has 19+ years of experience working with individuals on the Autism spectrum and with other developmental and neurological differences and mental health concerns.

Joy is a creative, strengths-based clinician who enjoys incorporating all things arts based into her work as well as cognitive behavioral concepts, systems work, personalized coping strategies and mindfulness practices. In her spare time she enjoys creating art, teaching fitness classes, singing, dancing, and playing with her dog.

      Jessie likes to build genuine rapport with clients and understands the therapeutic relationship is key to growth and change. She emphasizes the client is the expert of themselves and by using inner and outer strengths, they can gain insight into their pain and flourish to higher pursuits. By working collaboratively, Jessie can help and support each client and their individual needs.

      Jessie believes everyone along the lifespan can use emotional support and unconditional positive regard to heal and process unresolved past and current life struggles.
