About Me

Hello there! I am Jiayu, and I’m professionally licensed in DC and Maryland. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Capital Normal University in my home country. With a strong sense of curiosity to learn more about different cultures, I decided to attend graduate school in the United States and earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling George Washington University at Washington DC.

Life is beautiful and full of challenges, and sometimes it can be difficult and lonely to deal with everything by yourself. I believe that everyone is unique and have the strength to heal from difficult situations. My aim is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share as well as to be a listening ear and a compassionate support during our time together in therapy and help you uncover clarity, resilience, and balance.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I value cultural sensitivity and I use an integrative approach to therapy because everyone is different and have unique needs. I believe in the power of building genuine connections with my clients. I use a strength-based approach to help my clients and family heal and thrive. I also incorporate expressive art-based and play-based approaches into my work since talking is not always the language for everyone.

    About Me

My name is Selima Jumarali and I am a queer, Indo-Caribbean, Muslim femme of color. I offer compassionate listening, authentic validation, critical questions and reflections, and skill development for coping with trauma and triggers. I support my clients with: exploring your racial, gender, sexual, and/or religious/faith identities; surviving and thriving in an oppressive world with multiple marginalized identities; navigating chronic illness or health concerns; developing self-compassion and self-acceptance; and moving through, and growing around, grief.

I can help you feel a greater sense of control and acceptance over your emotions (the good, the bad, the ugly); better predict how you will feel when and why; understand what your feelings are signaling to you; and help you quiet your inner critic and practice self-compassion. I will help you build healthy relationships, navigate conflict, and understand when you need to compromise, advocate for yourself, or set boundaries. I can also help you gain clarity and confidence about your academic or professional next steps. Therapy with me is a warm, interactive space to feel holistically seen, deeply heard, and vulnerably held. Ultimately, I want to help you create the life you actually want to wake up to every day.

I am an integrative therapist who draws from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Interpersonal Process Therapy. I look forward to working with you!

Hello! I am Daniela, a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and Nationally Certified Counselor.

As a therapist, my approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for your unique perspective. I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your inner world, emotions, and experiences without judgement. My goal is to help you gain deeper insight into yourself, your challenges, and the patterns that may be impacting your well-being.

My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and committed to fostering personal insight, self-compassion, and positive change. Together, we will work to uncover the root of your struggles, develop empowering solutions, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

If you’re ready to explore your inner world and begin this journey of self-discovery, I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

          ¡Bienvenidos!
