About Me
Linnea Payne, Psy.D., combines her background in art and psychology to support children, adolescents, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. Her early career in the art world led to her role as Artist-in-Residence at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, where creating art at the bedside opened unexpected conversations about life, uncertainty, illness, and death. These experiences inspired her pursuit of clinical psychology and continue to shape her compassionate, creative, and developmentally informed approach to care at Orchard Mental Health Group.
Dr. Payne works with young children, adolescents, and their families to address emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, including anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment to medical diagnoses and chronic health conditions, neurodevelopmental differences such as autism and ADHD, and significant life transitions.
She takes an integrative, developmentally informed approach, drawing from evidence-based practices often incorporating play and creative expression. She believes in meeting each child and family where they are, tailoring interventions to their developmental needs, experiences, and goals. She is particularly passionate about collaborating with parents to deepen their understanding of their children’s emotional and developmental needs, build parenting confidence, and foster stronger parent-child relationships.
Dr. Payne holds a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Divine Mercy University as well as a Master’s in Modern and Contemporary Art from Christie’s Education. She completed her doctoral internship at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.
