    About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as reality and solution focused approaches. I believe in helping people set boundaries while working toward achievable goals. Therapy can be a place where people can explore their options, gain some insight and sometimes even have a laugh or two. I have been working at GBCC since June of 2008.

My areas of special interest include: post-partum depression, infertility, new parents, parents of high-need infants and children as well as parents of infants and children with GERD (reflux), colic or sleep problems.

I received my undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in the fields of addiction and treatment foster care.

        About Me (she/her/hers)

Sometimes we find ourselves at a place in life where we could use some help. Regardless of your specific challenge, I believe healing and growth happen most through relationships, when we can share our story with another and feel a little less alone. I consider it a privilege to be this person for you.

As a therapist, I strive to help you find relief from distressing symptoms, while also facilitating deeper change through exploration and insight. I believe this happens best when we can understand the impact of our past, in order to have greater ability to choose how we want to live in the present. Practically, this looks like me showing up in curiosity to ask the right questions, listening both to what is said and what is unsaid, being attentive to and creating space for what you’re feeling in the moment, and occasionally challenging you from a place of care. I believe that the therapy relationship is the most important tool for healing, and I aim to create a space in which your complexities are welcomed, your vulnerability honored, and your pain is met with compassion.

I am a postdoctoral fellow and Licensed Psychologist. I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Maryland College Park and have worked in various clinical settings, including university counseling centers and community clinics. I have extensive experience working with college students and young adults, and I currently work with adults across the lifespan.

I work with a variety of clinical concerns, with particular interests in relational challenges, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and religious/spiritual/existential concerns. If you are interested in working together or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to connecting with you.
