About Me

’m a licensed psychologist with a clinical health specialization from Drexel University in Philadelphia. I completed my clinical training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the San Francisco VA. I identify primarily with a cognitive behavioral framework, but also utilize mindfulness-based and insight-oriented approaches as appropriate. Optimal well-being and quality of life are primary goals of therapy. Problems are explored and understood through a holistic perspective that considers biological, emotional, spiritual, and interpersonal/relational characteristics of an individual. I specialize in health related issues such as chronic pain, sleep disorders, coping with medical illness, and weight related problems. I also work with area hospitals performing bariatric surgical psychological evaluations.

      About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience. I have earned both a master’s degree (MSW) and a PhD in social work. I have had the opportunity to work with various populations to include working in child welfare, health care, oncology, and military settings. I have specialized in treating active-duty military members from all services, veterans, other first responders, and their families for the last 10 years. I have also volunteered with military members and their families for additional years as a military spouse. In my practice, I have treated individuals who have experienced multiple forms of trauma, often facing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have expertise in the treatment of depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, bi-polar disorder, insomnia, chronic health problems, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, among others.

I use an integrative approach in the treatment of individuals, to include the use of cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), interpersonal therapy, grief counseling, and crisis intervention. My priority is for clients to feel safe, comfortable, and free from judgment during their treatment. I treat individuals with genuineness and empathetic understanding with a commitment to assist clients in the development of a sense of well-being.

        About Me

I am a Psychology Associate and have extensive experience providing individual therapy for adolescents and adults, and couples therapy. My clinical focus includes, but not limited to trauma, PTSD, marital and/or family conflict, grief and loss, anxiety, intimacy enhancement and overall psychological wellness. I facilitate psychological growth using an integrative approach, primarily incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and an attachment-based framework.

I am remarkably familiar working with people who have experienced dysfunctional family relationships and the impact of these experiences. I also provide psychological evaluations, cognitive and/or personality assessments to children and adults.

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University and am a dedicated member of the American Psychological Association and the Division of Military Psychology. I am a retired Veteran with 21 years of service in the Army and Coast Guard. I also have a law enforcement background which motivates me to help enhance the psychological wellness of our first responders and their families.

My philosophy is that psychological wellness is necessary in all that we do. Therefore, the importance of psychotherapy is equivalent to the care we show our body when enduring illness or injury. The awareness and skills developed from therapy continue to promote resilience and benefit you through many of life’s experiences.
