About Me

A strong, trusting relationship is at the heart of effective therapy. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring the concerns that brought them to therapy and working toward meaningful change at their own pace. I believe that we move through many stages of growth throughout our lives, and each transition—whether it’s a divorce, a new baby, graduation, a breakup, retirement, or the loss of someone we love—can bring both opportunity and stress. Even positive changes can feel overwhelming and impact how we function day to day.

I work best with individuals who appreciate a straightforward, collaborative approach and want an active role in setting the direction and pace of therapy. Curiosity about oneself, openness to different perspectives, and a sense of humor can be helpful companions along the way.

I provide individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults ages 11 and older. As part of GBCC’s LGBTQ Affirming Care Line since 2017, I am honored to offer a supportive and affirming space for individuals seeking a gender therapist. My additional areas of focus include ADHD, women’s issues, life transitions, and mood concerns.

        About Me

Before becoming a therapist, I spent fourteen years as a middle school English teacher, where I also provided academic coaching and mentored adults in a variety of settings. That experience deepened my passion for walking alongside others as they grow through life’s challenges and transitions. Today, I work with individuals, couples, and families, combining my clinical training with real-world experience to offer meaningful, practical support.

I specialize in helping clients navigate relationship struggles, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and spiritual concerns. I approach therapy through an attachment-based lens and draw from emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and client-centered work. This integrative approach allows me to tailor sessions to your unique needs.

In our work together, you (and your partner, if applicable) can expect to gain practical tools to apply in everyday life – tools designed to reduce anxiety and depression, increase emotional insight, and strengthen your connection with yourself and those around you. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel seen, heard, and truly understood. We’ll focus both on addressing immediate concerns and fostering deeper, long-term emotional growth.

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Wheaton College. I truly believe that every person deserves a space where they can explore and rewrite their story with honesty, support, and hope. I’d be honored to partner with you on that journey.

          About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience. I have earned both a master’s degree (MSW) and a PhD in social work. I have had the opportunity to work with various populations to include working in child welfare, health care, oncology, and military settings. I have specialized in treating active-duty military members from all services, veterans, other first responders, and their families for the last 10 years. I have also volunteered with military members and their families for additional years as a military spouse. In my practice, I have treated individuals who have experienced multiple forms of trauma, often facing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have expertise in the treatment of depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, bi-polar disorder, insomnia, chronic health problems, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, among others.

I use an integrative approach in the treatment of individuals, to include the use of cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), interpersonal therapy, grief counseling, and crisis intervention. My priority is for clients to feel safe, comfortable, and free from judgment during their treatment. I treat individuals with genuineness and empathetic understanding with a commitment to assist clients in the development of a sense of well-being.
