About Me

A strong, trusting relationship is at the heart of effective therapy. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring the concerns that brought them to therapy and working toward meaningful change at their own pace. I believe that we move through many stages of growth throughout our lives, and each transition—whether it’s a divorce, a new baby, graduation, a breakup, retirement, or the loss of someone we love—can bring both opportunity and stress. Even positive changes can feel overwhelming and impact how we function day to day.

I work best with individuals who appreciate a straightforward, collaborative approach and want an active role in setting the direction and pace of therapy. Curiosity about oneself, openness to different perspectives, and a sense of humor can be helpful companions along the way.

I provide individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults ages 11 and older. As part of GBCC’s LGBTQ Affirming Care Line since 2017, I am honored to offer a supportive and affirming space for individuals seeking a gender therapist. My additional areas of focus include ADHD, women’s issues, life transitions, and mood concerns.

          About Me

I love the work I do and believe in the transformative power of psychotherapy. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Social work from University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans. I specialize in working with adults struggling with life adjustments and transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, and relationship issues. With warmth, humor and honesty I use an eclectic approach in my work with clients, drawing from aspects of psychodynamic, relational, attachment-based, mindfulness, and internal family systems therapies.

When we’re struggling, asking for help can feel like an admission that there is something wrong with us rather than what it is~an act of courage and self-care. My approach is to see you as an individual, not a member of a diagnostic category or symptom., As Carl Jung said, “the privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” My goal is to help you navigate that journey, understand your feelings and patterns, guide you through your past to see how it is affecting your present self and your relationships and gently bring awareness to negative patterns of behaving and thinking so you can feel empowered to live a balanced and purposeful life.
