About Me

I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel happier, more balanced, and more confident in their life. Even during difficult times, people have the strength and potential to create meaningful change. Sometimes all it takes is having the right support and someone walking alongside you.

In our work together, we’ll identify the stressors or challenges you may be facing and explore ways to reduce uncertainty and build healthier coping strategies. My goal is to help you gain a fresh perspective on your situation, clarify what happiness and fulfillment look like for you, and create a realistic plan to help you reach those goals.

My approach to therapy draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and crisis management techniques. I often combine these approaches so we can tailor therapy to your unique needs and experiences.

I strive to create a supportive, encouraging space where you can feel heard and understood. I want you to recognize your strengths and feel empowered to overcome challenges that may have once seemed out of reach.

    About Me

Hello, I am Caiwei Tang. Thank you for reading my profile and considering me as your counselor. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland, offering bilingual counseling services in English and Mandarin.

I provide virtual therapy to adults throughout Maryland. My practice focuses on supporting individuals dealing with mood disorders, women’s issues, and trauma. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and understanding. I take a culturally sensitive, client-centered, and strength-based approach, tailoring each session to meet you where you are. You are unique, and so is your path to healing. My practice is rooted in a humanistic approach, emphasizing deep listening and a secure therapeutic relationship.

I am also trained in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I tailor these approaches to your needs, helping you explore different possibilities and overcome difficulties together. Together, we’ll work toward creating a space where you can confidently express yourself and find your way forward.

      About Me

I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland with a specialization in Behavioral Health. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland. I recognize that being human is difficult, and it is especially difficult when one feels alone in facing their challenges or uncertain about how to overcome them.

I am passionate about supporting individuals in feeling understood, supported and empowered towards creating positive changes in their life. Rather than taking an “expert” stance, I aim to achieve a collaborative connection with clients in which ongoing feedback is encouraged. I understand that many problems are multifaceted and strive to support clients in developing comprehensive solutions.

I believe treatment should be fitted to the individual and am versatile in my approach. I draw from a variety of interventions, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I recognize that client needs and preferences may change over time and am willing to modify my approach as necessary.

            A Sense of Mattering

Mattering is the profound recognition that our lives are intertwined with each other and more connected than we think. To matter signifies that our thoughts, actions, feelings and choices have a lasting impact, leaving a trace and/or legacy behind us, in the next generation passed down through our children.

            The Strength of Spirituality

Although religion and spirituality have been synonymous throughout history, in the last couple of decades spirituality has detached itself as a separate entity and therefore can sometimes be overlooked. As this distinction has become more apparent, research has grown to show the benefits of spirituality in an individual’s health.

Similar to spring cleaning, if there are emotional and mental loads that no longer serve us well, we can begin to let go.
